Our Story
Hello, I’m Chelsea Edelman. I have always enjoyed education and working with children. From a young age, I was playing school with my sister, babysitting my cousins, and tutoring younger students. I graduated from Hiram College in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. From 2013-2023, I taught in different areas of Columbus, Pre-K through 3rd grade. For the last four years, I taught Montessori Lower Elementary (grades 1-3 combined). During this time, I also received the American Montessori Society Lower Elementary Credential from Xavier University. During these ten years of teaching, I also babysat for a few families. This gave me more experience with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and brought so much joy to my life.
Over the years, I have realized my true passion is working with children ages 3-6. I also discovered my love for Montessori Education. I wanted to create a space where I could do what’s best for children and spend quality, individualized time with the children I serve. I love creating exciting and engaging activities and I really love being a part of a child’s learning experience. I live for those light bulb moments! With support from my husband, Max, Chelsea’s Childcare came to life.
Max and I met in January 2016 and got married in March 2023. We have lived in our home for 3 years. Max has owned and operated Columbus Home Handyman since 2020. We've worked hard to get our home childcare ready and to build the business from the ground up.
We also have 4 rescue pets. 2 cats, Winston and Leona, and 2 rabbits, Sven and Twyla.
Thanks for being here, we look forward to serving you!

Meet Chelsea, a devoted and seasoned educator with a rich tapestry of ten years of elementary classroom teaching experience. Chelsea has always been driven by a passion for fostering a love of learning in young minds, creating a positive and engaging environment within the four walls of her classroom.
Over the years, Chelsea has become known for her innovative teaching methods, personalized attention to each student, and her ability to create a nurturing atmosphere that encourages both academic and emotional growth. Her commitment to the holistic development of her students has made her a beloved figure among parents and peers alike.
Despite her success in the traditional classroom setting, Chelsea made a thoughtful and deliberate decision to embark on a new journey—transitioning from a bustling school environment to the coziness of her own home. This marked the beginning of her venture into starting an in-home daycare.
In her in-home daycare, Chelsea brings with her the wealth of experience garnered from a decade of teaching. The transition is not just a change of location; it's a shift in focus, allowing her to provide an even more intimate and personalized learning environment. The decision to start an in-home daycare reflects Chelsea's commitment to early childhood education and her belief in the importance of individualized attention during these formative years.
